What to Expect as a New Patient

Virtual Consultation

Meet the Doctor

Before scheduling your initial exam, you will have the opportunity to meet with me, Dr. Chris Uhle, for a complimentary 10-minute one-on-one virtual consultation. During this consult we will discuss the exam process, your familiarity with chiropractic care, services provided, and you may ask any questions* as time allows. At the end of this consultation, we will get you scheduled for your initial examination on a day/time that is convenient for you.

*This consultation serves as a meet and greet. While we may touch base on your reason for seeking chiropractic care, chief complaints and health history will be addressed during your initial examinaton.*

New Patient Forms

"The Story of You"

Following your consultation with Dr. Uhle, you will be emailed our new patient forms. These forms will cover personal information, chief complaints, previous treatments, health history, past imaging & diagnostic tests, and goals for treatment. This information will help to guide the exam process and allows for a more streamlined initial visit.

*Please complete these forms 24 hours before your scheduled initial examination, if not sooner.*

Initial Examination

"Day 1"

The initial examination starts with an overview of the information that you provided in the new patient forms, "Reframing Your Story," to help identify the root cause of your complaint. The examination process will vary from patient to patient; nerve related pain is different from muscular pain is different joint pain, each requiring their own litany of tests to single out the causative agent. These tests may include:

  • Vitals

  • Neurological Testing

  • Movement/Range-of-Motion Assessments

  • Special Tests/Orthopedic Tests

In some instances, imaging tests (x-rays, MRI, etc.) may be required to diagnose the underlying problem. If this is determined during your exam, or subsequent visits, you will be provided with an imaging script to pursue on your own accord. Referrals for imaging may mean that the you have these tests performed before we can begin treatment, this will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Treatment

Depending on the issues discovered during the initial exam, a brief run-down of your treatment plan will be discussed between you and Dr. Uhle. Treatment on, "Day 1," may include chiropractic manipulative therapy ("Adjustment"), some light soft tissue work, instructions on what to expect post-treatment, and how to help aid your body's recovery process.

These services are included in the initial examination fee and a reduced rate will be applied if it is determined that imaging is required before certain services can be provided.
